Satire for the Whole Smash Community
By now you can tell The Turnip didn’t manage to hold off the release of Ultimate, and so goes the saying, “if you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.”
If you’ve been a reader for some time, you probably know our content focuses primarily on Melee. However, while The Turnip is all about fun and satire in Melee, we’re also about uniting the greater Smash community.
Over the coming weeks, you’ll notice a few minor changes to the site and our social media accounts. This will include a change to our url from TheTurnipSSBM.com to TheTurnipSmash.com, as well as our Twitter handle changing from @TheTurnipSSBM to @TheTurnipSmash. These changes will not affect your experience on the site or on our Twitter account.
The reality of The Turnip is that this change has been a long time coming: we began writing articles about Super Smash Brothers Ultimate as far back as June 2018. These articles have been among the most well-received content we’ve ever published.
Our decision was leveraged on the idea that we want our brand to better reflect the content we create for our readers and to create a more unifying satirical site that the entire Smash community can enjoy.
We still love Melee
Don’t think that this is the end of Melee content! Our main writers and editors are Melee fans at heart: despite the hype around Ultimate, it’s clear that Melee is here to stay in the Smash community. We’ll still be primarily focused on Melee content (it’s what our current team follows), so let this be an opportunity for us to invite any interested Ultimate fans to become writers who would like to focus on Ultimate content. If you think you have what it takes, reach out to us on our Contact Us page, or DM us on Twitter.
Thank you to all our readers who enjoy our content and stick with us week-by-week — our team at Super Smash Bros. Finest News Source appreciates you.
Follow us on Twitter @TheTurnipSmash. If you’re interested in becoming a writer, our DMs are open there, or you can send us an email through our Contact Us page.
